The bookshop

The bookshop is part of the visit to the museum, and is run by museum staff. Designed by Andrée Putman as a ‘cabinet of curiosities’, the bookshop has developed a reputation throughout the region as the only place offering a very specific selection of publications on national and international contemporary arts, whereas all other contemporary art museums have preferred to diversify, offering a more general selection of books. It is divided into three sections: catalogues of biennales or large monographic exhibitions; a specialised selection of contemporary art with a wide selection of publications on individual artists; and Collection Lambert publications relating to the collection itself (Rendez-vous) or to large-scale exhibitions held over the past few years (Artists' Collections, Theorema, Figures de l'acteur, Cy Twombly, Andres Serrano, Comédie-Française, etc).
